It's the birthday of Charles Darwin, who's most famous scientific theory, of course, is the theory of evolution. The theory has been tested and refined over and over again through the years. It has not been conclusively proven. It has been controversial at various times.

This is one of those times! Some Christians who are very good at public relations decry the theory of evolution as opposed to faith. That causes many who are not active in a faith community to accuse Christians of being anti-scientific and ignorant.

What a tragedy. Because faith-language and scientific language does not talk against each other! Scientific language attempts to answer "how." Faith language attempts to answer "why."

I pray for the day when all people of faith will know that religion and science are not contradictory.
